Agreement gives Imagine access to Viatel’s secure data centre estate and high-capacity fibre network 

Imagine, Ireland’s independent broadband provider, has agreed a multi-year strategic infrastructure partnership with Viatel Technology Group – a leading provider of end-to-end B2B technology solutions. The partnership will support the next phase of Imagine’s transition to a fibre-first broadband provider. 

Under the agreement, Imagine will migrate its core network infrastructure into Viatel’s state-of-the-art Dublin data centre estate to improve the speed and reliability of Imagine’s network. Imagine will also leverage Viatel’s extensive, high-capacity fibre backbone, which Imagine will use to access SIRO’s wholesale fibre offering for new and current customers. Viatel will also support elements of Imagine’s internal digital transformation, advising in cybersecurity and software licensing. 

The agreement strengthens Imagine’s presence as a national connectivity provider and enhances its promise to provide broadband that is fair, transparent, and stable for its customers.

The Viatel partnership is the latest in a number of strategic network investments made by Imagine this year, including agreements with open eir and SIRO to further strengthening the provider’s delivery of broadband and mobile connectivity across Ireland.
