Gina Laverty joined Viatel Technology Group as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in July 2021. A graduate of Trinity College Dublin, Gina is a Chartered Accountant and Tax Consultant. Gina’s impressive financial career brought her to New York with PWC before returning to work in Ireland.

Gina formed part of the team that managed the sale of the Dublin-based online payments company, Realex, to Global Payments. She then joined the European Management Team of Global Payments, a worldwide provider of payment technology services, being promoted to Senior Vice President for International Finance before making the move to Viatel in 2021.

Gina’s experience in hypergrowth businesses and M&A have been indispensable to Viatel’s ambitious growth strategy. She has been instrumental in the many exciting recent developments in the Viatel story from the acquisition of Sungard Availability Systems Ireland’s cloud business to strategic investment by the group’s newest shareholders, Maquarie Capital.
