The group has Metro Area Networks (MANs) in ten of Europe's largest business centres as well as 14 data centres with a combined 5,194m2 of operational space in 6 countries. The fibre backbone employs the latest in Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) optical networking technology to provide 10Gbps+ transport speeds across major fibre routes. With diverse connectivity on key routes between the UK and continental Europe and close proximity to African and Asian landing stations, Viatel has a unique and differentiated network footprint and is one of only a few operators to provide multi-country fibre services throughout Europe.
