The CIO & IT Leaders Awards 2023 have recognised Viatel’s Eilish O’Connor as one of the country’s foremost IT Leaders. A distinguished panel of judges selected Eilish for her innovation, creativity and key successes in uniquely positioning Viatel Technology Group as the most complete cloud, connectivity and cybersecurity solutions provider in the market.
A graduate in Applied Physics from the University of Limerick, Eilish spent time working in software and as a technical trainer before joining Viatel as Cloud Solutions Director in 2018. Eilish was quickly promoted to CTO. Her pivotal role in our acquisition strategy and devising a future-proof product roadmap has been central to Viatel’s ascent as market leaders.
Eilish’s mission has always been to bridge the gap between people and technology. She has a particular talent for translating technical capabilities into tangible business benefits. Eilish is a champion of flexible working practices, sustainability and DEI initiatives at Viatel; all which she considers central to creating an environment where talented people can do their best work.
Reflecting on her inclusion on the prestigious shortlist, Eilish said, “Viatel Technology Group is a company of huge ambition. The winners of the CIO & IT Leaders Awards will be announced at a prestigious black-tie gala awards ceremony at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin on 30th March 2023.
