Job Title: Head of Microsoft Cloud Solutions

How long have you worked with us? nI’ve just passed my 7 year milestone with the Group!

Tell us a little bit about your role please

I have quite a diverse role in the business as Head of Microsoft Cloud Solutions. My background is technical but the days of getting my hands dirty on the technical side are long gone. My role centres around driving our cloud business and being the subject matter expert for everything Microsoft Cloud: from Azure to Microsoft 365 to Power Platform and most recently AI.

An average week/month ranges from delivering customer presentations, speaking at events in person or virtually, working with sales and marketing on our go-to-market strategies, hassling our operations about certifications while navigating the intricacies of being a Microsoft partner and working with our leadership and finance teams on overall cloud growth.

Give us the highlights tour of your career to date

There have been many highlights. In my role I’ve attended many Microsoft conferences globally and it has always been a privilege to accept the many partner awards on behalf of the company.

Seeing the pivot of the business to a cloud focus across sales and operations over the last number of years has been great too. Also as a natural introvert in my younger years I never thought I’d be comfortable speaking on many diverse topics in front of our customers, presenting at conferences or speaking on radio .. but here we are!

What do you love most about working with Viatel?

Diversity and opportunity are two words that come to mind here. Within the Viatel Technology Group now we have such a diverse range of people, talent, and expertise which will enable real opportunity to enhance and grow our cloud business more rapidly over the coming months and years. It’s an exciting time to be part of the group.

Describe yourself in three words

Optimistic, Pragmatic, Inquisitive

Tell us something we don’t know about you

I think I’ve already touched on that with the introvert bit…!! I made it as far as grade 3 piano but soon realised music was not my calling – I’ll leave that to the many talented artists from my native Mullingar – one of whom I’m related to (figure that one out!!)
