IP Voice
IP Voice is a replacement for the traditional voice access line and is often known as “IP trunking”. It gives customers the choice of integrating their existing PBX into the VoIP network and enjoying competitive PSTN call rates but more importantly, keeping all site-to-site calls on-net and free of charge. Customers continue to use their existing PBX handsets and features.
Viatel provides and fully manages IP Media Gateways which connect to the PBX and convert voice calls into IP Packets. Both ISDN PRI and Analogue interfaces are available.
Though designed for high outbound call volumes, IP Voice can provide the added resilience for inbound calls. If an access link failure occurs, calls can be diversely routed to a second destination.
