Hosted IP Voice
Hosted IP Voice is a network based IP telephony service often known as "IP Centrex" offering PBX-like functionality such as DDI, calling forwarding, call transfer, unified messaging and call waiting.
Viatel implements the end-to-end solution from the business grade data network, to the IP Phone installation and PSTN access. This allows customers to get on with their own businesses and not worry about voice communications.
Importantly, by centralizing the voice intelligence the customer also has built-in Business Continuity, as inbound voice calls can be redirected to alternative destinations on any access link failures. This is not the case with CPE intelligent solutions.
The service not only makes telephony costs more predictable but lowers the overall cost per “seat” by making better use of WAN bandwidth, slashing call costs and removing the need for high up-front capital set up costs.
Employee productivity increases because the feature-set is easy to operate and they can login to any IP Phone at any site and be contacted on their normal DDI number. The Soft Client goes one step further by allowing employees to work from home or a WIFI hot spot.
